It's been 14 years since I left San Jose State University with my degree in B.S. Graphic Design. Seeing all that has changed since then, I am in awe how my daily interactions mediated by new devices and services has changed me.
It's fantastic to see how my relationships with family and friends were aided and improved by the advent of the internet. Much of my professional experiences allowed me to create meaningful experiences through this medium, and it still excites me as I wonder what new challenges it will bring to me as an individual and a designer.
At my current role, I am part of a triumvirate reporting directly to the CTO, as a trusted advisor of all things Design. I bring the design topic to the other two, business and technology, and work with a very small team where roles are defined and blurred at the same time. From project lead to individual contributor, my focus primarily stays on the experiences users desire and need.
